From January 2006, nextstep services came under the scope of the Adult Learning Inspectorate (ALI) and in time all nextstep services will be inspected by the ALI.
The ALI is the inspectorate for skills, workforce development and preparation for employment. Working with employers and training providers, it is the ALI’s job to:
- Inspect and report on the quality of training and learning for adults and young people;
- Raise standards by sharing inspection knowledge with training providers and employers; and
- Offer independent quality assessment and advice to organisations wanting to provide better, more cost-effective training.
